Jibe: Apply Flow Optimization

CASE STUDY
Jibe: Apply Flow Optimization

The Jibe Core is a SASS suite composed of candidate experience products aimed at the enterprise market for employment and recruiting. One of the primary features is the user flow by which a candidate applies to a specific job. These flows can have anywhere from a few steps to as many as 60 steps.

Problem

Improve the user flow UX on the job application process in order to increase conversions and user satisfaction.

Approach

We analysed flows and collected data on user drop-off to pinpoint non-optimized areas and choke points, leading to an initiative to optimize the apply flow from two perspectives: input components (dropdowns, calendar etc.) and flow structure (information architecture, info capture, visual design).

Impact

Utilizing a holistic product development process, through collective brainstorming, prototyping and rapid
stakeholder validation, a solution was arrived at that would create a more powerful back-end to map user interaction with analytics and achieve a more personalized and optimized experience.

UX Discovery Artifacts

A number of explorations and concepts were created and combined with user research to iterate toward improvements to the apply flow

Stages of Evolving the Apply Flow UX

As concepts and designs were explored, specific steps, such as the "Resume Upload" featured here, underwent clarification and simplification

Prototype: Wireframes

Wireframes of prototype with advanced personalization includes steps to assist the user in curation of a custom path relative to their unique facets, an updated “Resume Upload” section, an updated “Personal Info” section that incorporates improved algorithms that analyze resume data to eliminate need for user input and an updated “Application Completion” section that incorporates a more fortified UX with various options to continue the user journey.

Prototype: Visual Design

The final prototype utilized the wireframe, but incorporated modern, simplified visual design that made for a clean, easy-to-use application that follows the Mental Model of "Turbo Tax." This and other similar applications take a complicated process involving multiple user inputs and optimize the flow as each user makes unique choices that further personalize the experience.
